Le premier rookie est Guanyu-Zhou (UNI-Virtuosi Racing), au neuvième rang. Mick Schumacher (Prema) a inscrit le 12e temps à une demi-seconde de Louis Delétraz. Quant aux Français Giuliano Alesi (Trident) et Anthoine Hubert (Arden), ils sont encore discrets au 14e et 15e rang, à sept et neuf dixièmes du leader.
