Plusieurs mois après la visite du président de la Fédération internationale de l’automobile (FIA) Jean Todt à Kasarani (Kenya), le gouvernement kenyan et le promoteur du Championnat du monde des Rallyes (WRC) ont signé un accord pour faire du mythique Safari Rally un candidat au WRC.

La réunion s’est déroulée jeudi à l’Automobile club de France à Paris. Le Safari Rally cherche à revenir dans le calendrier mondial pour 2020, ce qui ne s’est plus vu depuis 2002.
